DO Journal Release v1.5.3: Improved Memory Management

Bug Fixes DO Journal Update

Improved Memory Management

If you have a journal that has many hundreds of entries with images attached, DO Journal would become sluggish and take up a lot of your PC's memory.

We have addressed this now along with some other performance enhancements. DO Journal will now work faster across the board, and will take up substantially less memory as well! In our testing of the new release against image intensive journals, we have seen improvements where memory consumption has gone down by 95%!

Tell us what you think of this new functionality!

Other Improvements:

  • The Splash screen (during startup) now shows you the progress of loading your entries.
  • We have enabled error logging in DO Journal. In case you run into an issue, an error log is created - which can be sent to the Support Team to aid in investigation and resolution.

Bug Fixes:

  • Some users were getting an error on trying to acquire the location of the entry from the PC's location sensor. We now handle this error more gracefully.

    Important Note:

Existing customers of DO Journal will get an email in their inbox with a link to download the installer for the latest version of DO Journal. This is an in-place upgrade - which means that you simply download and run the installer and it will update the application. Your existing settings and data will not be affected in any way. If, for some reason, you do not get an email from us (please check your SPAM folder!), just drop us an email to and we will get you sorted out.
